Participant Information

Why volunteer to participate in Neuromuscular Research?

  • Be part of a community-focused research initiative: Your involvement helps to shape the future of healthcare in the Okanagan.
  • Contribute to technological advancements in healthcare: We are constantly looking to improve the state of the healthcare system.
  • Learn about the research process in a familiar environment: Our research initiatives often take place within the community, allowing for easy, hassle-free involvement, often from your own residential facility.

Before volunteering in any study within the lab or out in the community, all prospective participants will meet with an investigator, where they will have the opportunity to ask any questions that they wish pertaining to the research and the process of data collection. If you then wish to continue, you will sign a consent form which has been previously approved by a Research Ethics Board at UBC. Participation is always voluntary and participants are free to ask any questions or drop out of any study at any time.
